Community & Nonprofits

The mission of the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance (IWRA) is to support the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge, the first international wildlife refuge in North America, by working through partnerships to protect, conserve, and manage the Refuge’s wildlife and habitats; and to create exceptional conservation, recreational, and educational experiences to develop the next generation of conservation stewards. The Canvasback Corner Nature Store, located in the Visitor Center, sells educational materials and nature based gifts. All proceeds from the store help to support programming at the Refuge.
